Service to the sangat and the city
Beyond daily worship, the Gurdwara runs education, welfare and cultural work all year round — almost entirely through the service of volunteers.
Langar
A free meal for everyone, every day
Langar is the free vegetarian kitchen that Guru Nanak established as a practical rejection of caste, status and division. Here it runs daily: prepared, cooked and served by volunteers, and eaten together sitting on the same floor.
You do not need to be Sikh, you do not need an invitation, and there is never a charge. If you are hungry, please come and eat.
Punjabi School & Library
Teaching language, scripture and history
Our Punjabi school teaches children and adults to read and write Gurmukhi, to speak Punjabi confidently, and to understand Sikh history and the meaning of Gurbani. Classes are volunteer-led and run at weekends during term time.
The library holds scripture, translations, commentaries, historical works and Punjabi literature for reference on site — a quiet resource for students, researchers and anyone wanting to read more deeply.

Daily Langar

Punjabi School
Weekend classes teaching Gurmukhi reading and writing, Punjabi language and Sikh history to children and adults.
Library
A reference collection of Sikh scripture, history, translations and Punjabi literature available to read on site.
Kirtan & Religious Education
Classes in Gurbani Kirtan, tabla and harmonium, alongside teaching on Sikh faith and practice.
Anand Karaj (Weddings)
Sikh marriage ceremonies conducted in the Darbar Hall. Please contact the committee well in advance to arrange a date.
Funeral & Bereavement Support
Antam Sanskar arrangements, Path and Bhog services, and support for families during bereavement.
Community Welfare
Practical help and advocacy for elders, new arrivals, and vulnerable people in the local community.
Youth & Cultural Events
Gurpurab celebrations, youth activities, seminars, school visits and interfaith gatherings throughout the year.
Arranging a ceremony or asking for help
For weddings, Akhand Path, Sukhmani Sahib Path, funeral arrangements, hall bookings, school enrolment or welfare support, please speak to the committee. Someone is usually available at the Gurdwara during the day.
